Breaking Barriers

Elite Speed University is a performance-driven training team specializing in middle-distance and long distance skill development. Athletes ages 8–40 can train and compete on their own terms. Age groups are divided between: Youth Division, High School Division and Open/Masters Division. Our focus is to enhance runner's performances through speed endurance training, VOâ‚‚ max development, threshold training, strength & conditioning programming, and individualized race-strategy planning.

Our Story

Elite Speed University LLC is a USATF track club created by Michael Cochran, a USATF Level 1 Certified Track & Field Coach. Coach Mike is a former Division 1 track & field athlete, a St. Louis native and a local runner for Run it Back. + STLRunCrew. Over the years, Coach Mike has led numerous amounts of middle distance and distance athletes to Indoor and Outdoor National Championships including multiple individual medalist and relay medalist. His dream is to one day collaborate with talented middle distance coaches in the St. Louis region to showcase the Midwest's talents as one team separating the divide that he has seen in the coaching world.

Having coached for track & field for 13+ years his expertise has helped shape so many youth athletes transition from average to elite.

Distance Coach, Former Division I 800m-3000m athlete, SLU Graduate, local runner for STLRunCrew who brings unmatched energy and expertise to help distance runners excel. He offers virtual with in person training when applicable.

Coach Gordon has accomplished outstanding results in not just all of his clients he's worked with but also his own training. Pushing through to new personal records such as his new Mile PR of 4:13 and phenomenal new marathon personal record time of 2:35.08! Coach Gordon is eager to begin assisting you with your journey towards your next PR!

With a BS in Exercise Science, MS in Biomechanics, Doctor of Chiropractic studies there's simply no denying that Coach Mary is the absolute perfect coach to help steer you into the direction of your next PR.

Marina White

Head Girl's Middle Distance/Long Distance Coach

Coach Marina is a growth-oriented and athlete-centered coach who blends compassion, discipline, and purpose. She is very passionate about developing well-rounded runners who thrive both on and off the track. Coach Marina's goal is to create a supportive, uplifting environment where athletes feel challenged, confident, and valued.
